Regional masala incense makers from Shimoga in Karnataka.

GP Industries is a small incense maker based in Shimoga in Karnataka, southern India, a region long associated with spice cultivation and aromatic materials. Like many regional incense producers, the company works on a modest scale and focuses on traditional masala-style incense, where aromatic powders and oils are blended directly into the incense paste before being hand-rolled onto bamboo sticks.

This traditional approach produces fragrances with wonderful depth and character, very different from the dipped incense widely manufactured for export markets.

The GP range includes both perfumery-inspired blends and compositions that echo the atmosphere of Indian temple incense. Although still relatively little known outside India, several of their fragrances have attracted attention among experienced incense enthusiasts for their balance, richness and distinctive character.

These are, without doubt, two of my favourite incense.
