Misbah Fragrance is a Bangalore incense house with roots that appear to stretch back to the early 1970s, though the company as it operates today was formally registered around 2017. The founding vision belongs to Siraj Ahmed, and the house carries his name in the Arabic sense — misbah means lamp, or lantern — which is a quietly apt emblem for what these incenses do.

The house is based in Nayandahalli on Bangalore's Mysore Road, well within the city's historic incense-making belt, and their production is oriented primarily toward the Indian domestic market and specifically toward the Muslim fragrance tradition. That distinction is significant because it shapes everything: the ingredients, the blending philosophy, the register of the finished sticks. Where much of Bangalore's output is aimed at the devotional Hindu market — floral, temple-inflected, often comparatively light — Misbah works in the richer, deeper vein of the bakhoor and kasturi tradition: Damask rose, dark oud, sandalwood in its most complex and oily expression, musks that hold the whole thing earthward.

The result is incense that is bold without being single-note or blunt. There is genuine subtlety here, real layering — but the foundation is always warmth, depth, and a kind of enveloping richness that is characteristic of the Arab-influenced incense culture that has long been part of everyday life in Muslim households across the subcontinent.
